Gundy Getaway is a relaxing escape nestled on a sprawling 320-acre property, offering 70 acres of picturesque camping grounds along the serene Mary River. Located between Gympie and Maryborough, we're a peaceful retreat just a short drive from the Bruce Highway.
Explore our walking trails, try your hand at fishing or kayaking, or simply relax by the river. For the little ones, we've got a playground and mini-putt course to keep them entertained. And for the adventurous, there's an exciting RC track in the making!
With plenty of free firewood and cozy fire pits, Gundy Getaway is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. We have toilets and hot showers onsite, and your furry friends are welcome too, as long as they're kept on a leash.

Absolutely! There is also plenty of firewood located around the property. It is free to use if located on the ground. Keep chainsaw use to a minimum and do not cut down established trees. The only exception to fires is if there is a fire ban in the region.

No. Firepits are located around the campgrounds for use or you may use your own. Fires are to be contained in firepits only. Firepits are to be supervised at all times and extinguished when unattended.

Bins are provided for all of your bottles and cans but all general rubbish will need to be taken with you. Please feel free to burn any paper or cardboard in the fire pits. Do not leave rubbish on the ground. Rubbish bags are provided upon arrival when checking in. Camp areas are to be kept clean and tidy.

There is a hot shower at The Gums section of the campground - see map for further information. Please keep water usage to a minimum.

There are multiple portaloo’s situated throughout the campground. Please do not put any foreign material, personal hygiene or liquid down them.

There is to be no loud noise beyond 10pm. There is to be no unreasonable noise at any hour.

Within the camping grounds is walking pace only (under 10km’s per hour). Please be mindful of children at all times

Quiet generators are permitted between 8am and 6pm.

Pets are allowed at Gundy Getaway, however we ask that you abide by the following requirements:
Pets are to be tethered at all times whilst in or around the campgrounds.
The owner shall be responsible for any damage caused by their pet.
Owners will pick up and dispose of any droppings in your own rubbish.
No pets allowed in the amenities
Any pet that is aggressive in nature towards other campers or their pets will be asked to leave!

In the event of an emergency, all guests located on the property are to assemble at the area located next to the awning near the office.

We ask all guests to book before arriving at the campground. This ensures you are guaranteed a campsite and are covered by insurance.

Yes! Caravans and camper trailers can easily park in The Gums section of the campground. The Pastures and Riverside sections of the campground can be accessed by 4WD’s with offroad caravans and camper trailers.
